Baptism Sunday

October 15, 2017

9:00am – 12:30pm

Location: 1301 High Street , Boulder , Colorad 80302

Directions

On October 15th we are having a Baptism Sunday! This is an opportunity for those who have not been baptized to be baptized and for us to celebrate their new life in Christ.

If you are interested in being baptized, RSVP on The City to this event so that we can plan out the services accordingly.

We typically hold baptisms after each service depending on the need but we will be in touch with you to discuss baptism and when you are available. Once you let us know you are interested in being baptized, we can begin the conversation to answer any questions you may have.

Why is baptism such a big deal at The Well?

1. It’s a Visual Representation Of The Gospel

Baptism is a visual representation of the gospel.  When a person is put down into the water it represents the death we lived in before God saved us. When we are raised up out of the water it represents being born again into new life! We identify with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

This is extremely powerful and puts the gospel on display in a way that some may have never seen. It also reminds believers of the gospel which is always a good thing.

2.  It’s a Milestone For Our Church

We see time and time again in scripture that the called people of God have markers to remind them of God’s faithfulness. Baptism services act as a marker to remind us of His faithfulness.  We have seen Christians become disciples, we have seen God save people, and people engage Boulder County on mission. We have a reason to celebrate and we do that during this gathering.

3.  It’s an Opportunity For God To Call People To Himself

The visual display of the gospel is a tool that God uses to stir people’s affections.

We love seeing people fall in love with Jesus. This is a great opportunity for friends and loved ones who do not claim Jesus as Lord to come, hear, and see the gospel and hopefully be saved.

4.  We Are Obeying One of Jesus’ Commands

Matthew 28:19 Jesus to tell us to go make disciples and baptize them. Obeying Jesus for us is not a chore but instead an honor, it’s our joy!

You do not need to be baptized to be saved but being baptized is a sign that you are obeying Jesus’ command and you are regenerate. Baptism is a believer professing publicly that God has saved them through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
